What does this mean for you? It means you are getting only the most relevant and unbiased information (well, as unbiased as humanly possible) about the topics we cover. Since we are not pushing a specific product, mortgage, mortgage company and so on, you cannot feel pressured one way or another to sign with us… in fact, we have absolutely no impact on where you sign or what your decide to do beyond reading the valuable information provided on our site.

Is this a good thing?

You bet. If we worked for one of the big mortgage companies, you would find that we are pushing product. Let’s say you are looking for a fast home equity loan.  If our commission rates were highest with Lender A than Lender B and their “product” was virtually identical (this usually means they are at the same rate) guess whose fast home equity loan we would recommend to you.
That’s right, it would be Lender A’s.

But here’s the kicker. No two products are exactly the same. Prepayment privileges will differ, your service requirements might be different, and even if Lender B offers some options that might (or might not) be benefit to you, we can pretty much guarantee that we can still sell you Lender A’s solution based on rate alone. In fact, we probably would not even know all of the ins-and-outs about the lesser-paying product. Compensation sadly dictates recommendations in most cases. It’s dirty, but it is also how the industry work.

And that, dear visitor, is why this site exists. While the brokers and lenders fight over product specifics, the Home Equity Loan Site will worry about making sure you know about the solutions out there. Understand that key difference:

Solutions are not the same as products

In fact, products are a dime a dozen. So maybe it does not matter whether Lender B’s product is any better than Lender A’s if you are able to obtain a solution for your home equity problems. However, spending two or three minutes on our website will ensure that you are at least able to understand what product pushers are talking about. In fact, you might even have an upper hand when it comes to dealing with such product pushers.
